TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS, BELLS & CYMBALS:

 TIBETAN SINGING BOWLS

Singing Bowls are traditional instruments from Tibet used primarily for meditation, ritual and ceremony.
They are played by holding the bowl in the palm of one hand and the wooden beater in the other - with a fairly firm yet even pressure the wooden beater is rubbed clockwise around the outside edge of the rim of the bowl.  As the beater is rotated around the outside rim of the bowl, maintaining an even pressure and speed, the friction created will make the bowl start to vibrate and 'sing'.  The sound of the singing bowl build ups slowly as the vibration increases.
