"FULL CIRCLE"

FULL CIRCLE: Songs of Change & Inspiration:  As its title suggests, an inspirational CD.  Beautiful music, from the haunting flutes in 'Song of Heron' to the lusty frame drum beats of 'Waking' to the hypnotic 'At the Centre'.  Thought-provoking lyrics show Scott and Susan's love of their countryside and deeply held shamanic beliefs.  Impossible to sit still to, this CD will leave you uplifted and energised.  Jane & Ian Hyde, N. Somerset

FULL CIRCLE: Songs of Change & Inspiration:  From the beginning of the first track to the end of the album, I defy anyone to resist swaying, joining in the catchy lyrics, taping their feet or drumming their fingers!  More folky than their previous albums, Scott and Susan have introduced more instruments to add to the usual djembes, didgeridoo, frame drums and bodhran. High and low whistles, acoustic & electric acoustic guitars, electro-acoustic bass guitar, mandola, riq, claves, wooden flutes and a variety of percussion instruments, in the expert hands (and mouth!) of Scott and Susan, bring their music alive.  With wonderfully contrasting voices, Scott and Susan weave the tale of the circle of life in their clever lyrics and inspirational chants.  Don’t miss it!

"TIDES"

TIDES:  “What a beautiful album Tides is.  I can’t stop listening to it – relaxing, peaceful, inspiring & full of life.  Can’t wait to hear what comes next!!”  Holly Denham, Hampshire.

TIDES:  "The ebb and flow of sound within Tides grows inside you like a magical herb.  I have no single favourite track on the album because each song offers an experience that is utterly unique.  Scott and Susan have evoked the rhythms of our beautiful land and show us our place within its glorious arms.  This album, played loud, is a deeply moving, mystical adventure and there are elements that will always move me to tears.  Blessed Be."
Sharon Zak, Surrey, www.slipperyjacks.com

TIDES: We listened to Tides on the way home from Quest - totally brilliant, it grabs you in all the right places!”  Dawn & David Compton, Cirencester.

TIDES:  "If you are going through a bad time or even having the time of your life, switch this music on and be blown away by every track. It will bring you endless feelings of happiness and calmness all the way through and is perfect for every occasion!  The strong voices of the very talented Scott Jasper and Susan Garlick make this CD simply inspirational and charming. 'Tides' capture the enchantment and emotion of nature and life using astounding earth friendly instruments such as the didgeridoo, drums and flutes.
The most wonderful thing about Dragonfly Moon is that they have been uniquely inspired by nature and all it has to offer and therefore, this music is for everyone.  Open your soul and allow Dragonfly Moon to speak to your heart and fill you with joy and pureness.
To appreciate what I am talking about in this review you will have to listen to the music, and to appreciate the music you will have to see them live to get a truly life changing experience."

TIDES:
Susan Garlick asked me quite some time ago if I’d do a review of Tides for her and Scott Jasper who make up the duo of Dragonfly Moon. Tides is their second album to be released.  For one reason or another I hadn’t got around to it. Suddenly I found myself ‘free’ with plenty of time on my hands, but I’m not writing this in the professional capacity of the editor of One Source, I’m writing this as Caroline Mitchell and this for Susan and Scott.
Tides is an exceptional album; I truly enjoyed Earth Dreamers, their debut album. Tides has a different quality to it completely. Susan and Scott have managed once again to give you a sense of the beautiful country we live in, and a connection to the earth, but it goes way beyond that. The pair that make up Dragonfly Moon are truly gifted musicians, with their roots connected deeply to the British land; and this is their gift to you and me.
There is a beauty in the music of Tides.  Scott and Susan possess clarity of voice which is held together with the diverse range of instruments which is used to make up Tides.  They manage to weave the sound and feeling of the drum, guitar, voice, flute and more into a canopy of sound.  This is a purity of magic which is deeply healing and inspiring. When listening to Dragonfly Moon either live, (which is a real treat) or on CD you are transported to a place within you, a place where you can unwind, heal or just be.
Both Susan and Scott have a presence which goes way beyond the norm.  They are genuine people who love what they do with their music, and other work.  It is this that shines through in their recording of Tides.
Personally for me I began listening to Tides purely because I had the time. My life had turned on its head, I was suddenly unemployed and was facing an extremely challenging time.  Tides gave me the space I needed; it also brought in a connection to myself.  There is a lot of talk in the personal development and spiritual worlds ‘of being in the Now’.  ‘Being present’.  I had forgotten how to do that – Tides brought me back, it gave a space, time and enormous clarity. It helped me to relax, stop doing and just ‘Be’.
Thank you guys for gift of Tides, but most of all for your friendship.  I feel greatly blessed and honoured to know you both – it is a privilege.
With Love Caroline xx

Earth Dreamers CD Cover.jpg (162711 bytes)
"EARTH DREAMERS"

Earth Dreamers is the debut album of Scott Jasper of Dragonfly Moon.  Earth Dreamers is a celebration of the beauty and magic of our ancient and beautiful land.  Scott’s use of a diverse range of international native instruments weaves a tapestry of sounds, invoking a true connection to our mother the Earth – harsh beauty with a magical quality.  He captures the spirit of the world through the use of voice and sound.  Listening to Earth Dreamers you are transported deeply inward, feeling the presence of the self, the power of creation and of the Mother herself.  His music is powerful and transformative; one cannot help but be moved by it – it touches something deep within that cannot be ignored.  Somehow it brings you into rhythm with Mother’s heartbeat.  The sheer power of earth is unmistakeable – raw, unforgiving yet beautiful.  Scott brings together all the elements of our spectacular planet, tying together the four directions and the elements of water, air, earth and fire, all the time weaving a tapestry of images in the mind’s eye.  For more information visit their website: www.dragonflymoononline.co.uk

CD REKINDLES FOND MEMORIES OF FESTIVAL SEASON"
"EARTH DREAMERS, the new CD from Scott Jasper, is just brilliant!  It’s ideal for this time of year because it helps to rekindle all of those beautiful festival memories.  Scott seems to have captured perfectly the essence of oneness, with tribal chants and Native American overtones.  The harmonies are outstanding, from the peaceful to the wild and free, he has certainly used all the right ingredients in this debut CD.  Call 01364 653247 or visit www.dragonflymoononline.co.uk

Personal comments from Scott & Susan...

EARTH DREAMERS
Earth Dreamers CD Cover.jpg (162711 bytes)

"Earth Dreamers was a real out-breath for me.  Songs I have gathered through a number of years were finally realised and released.  For me, the album is intended to speak to all who dream a positive future, and speaks of our ancestors – past, present and future.  The songs reflect both inner and outer experience, and the tracks on this album were mainly first takes, as I wanted to capture the spirit & energy of the moment."  SCOTT.

"It was wonderful to finally get to hear these songs on an album!  Scott had been working on many of the Earth Dreamers songs for a number of years (along with a long list of other great songs too I must add!) and so I already knew them really well, but still it was great to finally have a CD full of great songs, all 100% Scott, and to have played a small part in bringing that to fruition.  And I just love the notion & magic of the Earth Dreamers...  I really enjoy regularly performing some of the tracks from this album, particularly 'Silent Emotion' as well as, of course, 'Dragonfly'.  Although I have to admit that one of my favourite album tracks is 'Closer'!"  SUSAN.

TIDES
TIDES cover.jpg (163046 bytes)

"Tides feels very personal.  I truly feel that this album is a reflection of who I am, bringing together all the strands of my life and creating a musical journey where experiences are simply translated into music. One of the ideas behind this was to make an album that was thought provoking, spiritual and (hopefully!) moving, and at the same time accessible and musically relevant to now, allowing the listener to discover something of the deeper side of themselves through feeling as well as listening to the songs. This CD was based on rock, blues, world and folk as well as more “new age” influences and combines them with a shamanic way of viewing the world around us all, drawing on my own personal shamanic experience and capturing the simplicity and wonder that is all of our lives.  Tides celebrates the ebb and flow of our existence, and honours the boundaries between all things – the seasons, the years, each moment that passes.  My personal favourite, 'Spiral Turn', perhaps most expresses these ideas."  SCOTT.

"For me, Tides is really a culmination of a lot of work in a lot of areas of our lives.  I had been working intensely on my ideas on the British Medicine Wheel in the run up to writing & recording this album and Tides both expresses & flows very neatly with that work.  It was an amazing creative process to bring each of these songs out, to give them form and definition, and especially to work on them together.  Although we did write a couple of songs separately, they were, for the most part, written jointly by the two of us, and were recorded from start to finish purely by us.  So I am really proud of this achievement and feel that it really makes a statement about us and where we are, although, of course, the spiral is always moving & turning!  It was also an honour to be able to work with Tiana, a fantastic artist who brought out my cover ideas so wonderfully!  And my personal favourite?  Everyone seems to have a different one, and I have to admit that although I really love all of this album (how great to be able to own that!), I will always have a very soft spot for the creation magic of 'Sunset'."  SUSAN.

"FULL CIRCLE: Songs of Change & Inspiration"

FULL CIRCLE cover.jpg (331102 bytes)
Where one cycle comes to an end & another begins there is a magical & inspirational space between,
where anything is possible…
FULL CIRCLE is inspired by the cycles of our beautiful native landscape,
its powerful ancient myths & stories & the timeless mysteries of change.
Let these songs travel with you as you traverse the many hoops of life.

"We are both really excited about this new album, are enjoying performing these new songs
and are thrilled with the initial response we have had!  One of our most favourites is 'The Silver Shore'..."
Susan & Scott.
