  AUTUMN  2011  NEWS  UPDATE

Early Autumn Greetings to you all and welcome to our Autumn Newsletter…

Firstly a huge thank-you to all those of you who have contacted us regarding our new album - we are absolutely thrilled with all the amazing feedback we have received regarding ‘The Many Coloured Road – Songs for the Journey’, so thank you all so much! We are really excited to be playing many of the tracks from the CD at our up and coming Autumn concerts, starting with a special acoustic set at the Mercian Gathering at the beginning of September and continuing with an intimate evening concert in Fiskerton near Lincoln on Saturday 10th September.  There are a few tickets still available for this event so feel free to contact us to reserve seats!  We are also offering a further autumn gig in Todmorden on Saturday 19th November and again, tickets are available straight from us so feel free to drop us a line to book seats.  For those of you not able to make these events and have yet to hear any of our new tracks – we hope to make a selection of short sound snippets available soon via our website and facebook page (Do come and “like” us at www.facebook.com/dragonflymoononline if you haven’t already joined our circle of Facebook friends!)

Our Autumn full day workshops in Lincolnshire and Todmorden (Lancs/W Yorks border) are pretty much fully booked up – so do get in touch quickly if you’d like to book any!  Further than that, full details of all our autumn musical workshops can be found on the Drum Workshops page and you can of course contact us to go on the reserve lists for any workshop in case any further places become available.  We hope to be able to offer further workshops in both Lincolnshire and Todmorden in 2012 including further ‘musical path to meditation’ days as well as drumming workshops so watch this space!

We have had a fabulous time at summer events such as The Healing Weekend in Somerset (great gigs!) and the Shrewsbury Folk Festival, and are looking forward to Autumn events such as Harrogate and Lincoln MBS and of course the Gorton Monastery BSSK MBS event.  We will also be returning to Derby MBS, the Ilkley Complementary Medicine Festival and the Cheltenham Natural Living Show during the Autumn and will be exhibiting our musical wares at all of these events including some new percussion lines and a brand new range of lovely wind-chimes so be sure to come check out our stand!

Other news is that we have moved house – again!  We are still in Glorious Galloway but are now nestled in the edge of the hills and are extremely lucky to have spectacular costal views.  :)  However, it of course means our landline number has changed (see Contact Us page) as well as our postal address so please DO call or email us BEFORE posting us anything!  Many thanks for your understanding.

Full 2012 news will follow sometime in the Spring and in the meantime, have an inspirational Autumn and a restful Winter, with Bright Wishes to you all, Scott & Susan x

SPRING & SUMMER 2011 FULL NEWS

A Very Big Hello to all our Dragonfly Moon Friends and welcome to our Spring and Summer News!

OUR BIG NEWS IS THAT OUR BRAND NEW ALBUM IS OUT NOW!!
After magical times spent in the wild hills, mysterious moorland and deserted shores of our wonderful Scottish home, and an exciting and creative spell in the Dragonfly Moon recording studio, we are very happy to say that our new album ‘THE MANY COLOURED ROAD - Songs for the Journey’ is now availbale and already receiving fabulous feedback!  Other than our mythic project ‘Rigantona’s Daughters’, this is the first full album from BOTH of us since ‘Full Circle: Songs of Change & Inspiration’ in 2006 and is being praised as our best album to date (Bless you!).  It was also, for once, released on time!  :)   For a full description, track listing and cover art please visit our CDs page.  Sound clips will be available on our Facebook page in the coming weeks –
www.facebook.com/dragonflymoononline

Other big news is that Susan has recently completed her Masters Degree in Celtic Studies by submitting a 20,000 thesis!  Many thanks to all of you who have shown interest and supported her in her studies, understanding it’s no easy feat when selling instruments and recording CDs at the same time!  Susan has additionally overhauled our website in the past few months so be sure to take a look, with many more musical instruments both added already and coming soon – and remember, they are all available to mail order!  Susan is currently compiling song lyrics to pretty much all our released material to date, for a special limited edition song book titled ‘Songs of Wild Lands & Ancient Mysteries’, finally due out later this year - full details to follow in our Autumn Newsletter.

On the African Drumming front Scott is running numerous days of exciting and uplifting drum celebrations this year - all our full day workshops are selling out fast so be sure to drop us a line as soon as you can to be sure of securing a place at one of these inspirational workshops.  First up is a drumming day on Saturday 18th June at Todmorden in the Pennines, on the W. Yorks/Lancs border, which literally only has a couple of spaces left.  Then the autumn brings a new workshop venue at Fiskerton, 5 miles from Lincoln, where we are offering a drumming day on Saturday 10th September followed by a special intimate evening concert with the two of us.  Our autumnal visit to Todmorden occurs in November, this time offering a different drumming workshop on Saturday 19th November, an evening concert on the Saturday night, AND a musical meditation for the heart & soul day on the Sunday (20th Nov), led by both of us.  Feel free to drop us a line with any queries or to book places.  Full details and descriptions are, of course, on the Drum Workshops and Diary of Events pages.

We are also hoping, time and venue permitting, to offer a drumming day and perhaps also an evening concert in Somerset (close to the M5) in October or November.  We would really appreciate it if you could let us know if you are interested in attending a Somerset workshop, and we’ll reward you by offering you first refusal on the places once we have it all finalised.  Many Thanks!
We will, of course, also be in Somerset in early July for the fabulous Healing Weekend at Secret World (July  8-10).  We will be there the whole weekend with our outdoor stand crammed full of musical instruments and will be offering daily musical workshops and a Friday evening and Saturday afternoon performance.  We are greatly looking forward to being there and hope to catch up with many of you over the course of this wonderful event.

Other summer and early autumn events for us include favourites like Buxton and Lincoln MBS events and the Mercian Gathering where we will also be performing, amongst many others such as the amazing Shrewsbury Folk Festival.  Below are diary dates for the spring and summer (plus autumn workshops)  - we will be sending a further newsletter later in the year with our full autumn and winter dates, although you can, of course, also check our website or give us a call.  Please ensure you keep us posted with any changes to your email address as we no longer send out postal newsletters - email newsletters are usually sent out twice a year.  In the meanwhile, be sure to stay in touch and drop by our Facebook page to say hello - don’t forget to click the ‘like’ button on our page too!

Wishing you all a fruitful summer, with Bright Wishes Scott & Susan x
